Pros

Let's take a deeper look at what we liked about the Islamorada - there are quite a few "pros" associated with it. For instance, the stride and incline of the machine are really two of the best features that are included, particularly the incline.

While a majority of similar elliptical trainers only include inclines from 0 to 40 degrees, the Islamorada includes an incline from 0 to 60 degrees. This is especially useful in strengthening all of the leg muscles and will provide a fairly strenuous workout no matter how long the session lasts.

The sleek LCD screen situated just between the handlebars is also another huge positive for this trainer. It displays all of the statistics about the users height, weight and age, while also providing a wealth of different exercise metrics, such as calories burned, distance and speed, as well as others. This screen also displays a persons pulse.

This is done through the soft and plush handlebars, as they measure the pulse when gripping the handlebars. It should also be mentioned that the display on the trainer already comes pre-loaded with 21 workout programs and 9 others that can be customized to the users preferences.

Each of these are extremely useful in providing the ability to vary workouts and exercise routines. The foot-pedals themselves are very soft and easy to run on for lengthy periods of time.

Users will be happy to know that the 400 pound weight capacity is one of the best aspects of the machine, as many elliptical trainers only support a weight capacity of around 350 pounds. The bike also comes with over a dozen resistance levels, each of which help to provide a more strenuous workout.

The Warranty for the trainer is very comprehensive, with a lifetime warranty on the frame, magnetic braking system and flywheel, as well as five years for parts and two for labor.

Cons

As is the case with every trainer, there are also a couple of negatives that everyone should be aware of. The high price of just over $2,400.00 might be a bit too steep for some, especially those on a budget.

While the features included on the bike make this a fair price, it might still be considered too high by some.At a weight of about 250 pounds, the trainer can also be really heavy. While the elliptical has wheels and will be easy to move around once assembled, doing so upon delivery can be complicated.

Assembly can also take quite some time, possibly an hour or more depending on how many people are working on it.

Final Word

Overall, the Yowza Islamorada Elliptical is a fantastic trainer that is well worth the money. The stride and incline levels, as well as the convenience of the water bottle holder and max weight capacity help to make this trainer feel feature-intensive, as does the comprehensive LCD display set between the handlebars.

Though the Precor EFX Elliptical Trainer might be the better machine due to its inclusion of 20 resistance levels and 2 heart-rate monitors, the Islamorada is a much better value at nearly $500 cheaper and a similar feature set.

While there are a couple of negatives that you should keep in mind, the positives are far more numerous and help to establish this trainer as an easy one to recommend.
