The Good

  • Shock Absorption

The treadmill has a comfortable deck. It is cushioned in order to lessen the impact when jogging. This is important for anyone who has knee problems. Many other treadmills have a stiff deck that makes jogging difficult.

  • Easy Incline

The inline is easy to operate. The ProForm 6.0RT allows you to walk uphill and then return to a flat surface at the touch of a button. You can control the incline via the control panel. The ability to increase incline helps with cardiovascular exercise.

  • Clear Control Panel

The control panel is easy to read and operate. It is an LCD display. It displays distance, current speed, and total calories burned. There is also the option to monitor your heart rate using the handlebars. The handlebars have electric sensors in them. The company calls this technology EKG Grip Pulse.

  • Easy Fold Away Storage

This is a great feature. The treadmill folds up so that it does not take up much space. It folds up vertically, so it cannot be placed under a bed. But it can easily by pushed against a corner wall. This is perfect for anyone who wants a treadmill but who does not have a lot of extra space in their home.

  • Quiet

The Proform 6.0RT is very quiet. Some treadmills have loud motors. That can be a problem. It means you can’t hear the television or radio. It is also bothersome to hear a loud motor. Luckily, ProForm has designed a powerful motor that is not loud.

  • Warranty

ProForm has one of the best warranty programs in the business. They guarantee their product for 5 years. That is excellent coverage for exercise equipment such as a treadmill.

The Bad

  • Not Designed for Running

This treadmill is not really designed for people who want to run. It is more suited for jogging or walking. If you are someone who runs alot, then another model would be a better choice.

  • Not Very Long

One common complaint is that the treadmill is not very long. This is another reason why it is not great for running. People who want a treadmill designed for running will want one with a longer tread deck. The tradeoff for a compact unit is that it will not have a very long deck. So you have to weigh which is more important for your needs: space or tread deck length.

  • Average Motor

The motor is powerful enough for walking and running, but it is not suited for high speed running.

The Verdict

The Proform 6.0 RT is a good choice for most people. If you are going to walk or jog, then this treadmill will be ideal. It is also good for people who live in apartments or houses where space is an issue. The fold up feature is great for saving space. The dashboard console is also an excellent addition. It lets you monitor your speed and calories burned. It also makes it very simple to operate the machine. This is good for people who want to keep track of exactly how many calories they have burned off.

If you are looking for a treadmill that can handle very high running speeds, then the ProForm Pro 2500 is a better choice. It has a much stronger motor and is designed for athletes who want to run at top speeds. That being said, the 6.0 RT by Proform is one of our top picks in the sub $500 price range.
